I am Kanisher Wooten Caldwell, born and raised right here in Pine Bluff, Arkansas.

I am a nurse practitioner and have worked in the medical field for 23 years.

On November 12, 2023 I filed for State Representative of District 65.  I chose to run for State Representative because I believe in the potential of our community. Effective representation requires a deep understanding of the issues our district faces, along with a commitment to finding solutions.

Through my life's journey, I've learned that true leadership involves serving others. I am dedicated to serving the people of District 65. With your support, we can champion positive change.

Health Disparities with emphasis on Mental Health and Parity. In our society, mental health is a cornerstone of our well-being, yet it remains an issue that's often overlooked. Parity in mental health care is not just a goal; it's a necessity for the well-being of our communities and we can't afford to ignore it any longer. As a candidate, I am committed to ensuring mental health parity, advocating for policies that provide equal access to mental health care, breaking down stigmas surrounding mental illness, and promoting comprehensive mental health education. Together, we can build a future where mental health is given the attention and resources it deserves, fostering a society where everyone has the opportunity to thrive, both physically and mentally.

As a candidate for State Representative, I am deeply committed to revitalizing our education system. The retention of skilled teachers and dedicated administrators is crucial for our children's future. Insufficient infrastructure has hampered our schools' ability to provide a top-tier education. Moreover, the decline in district enrollment has directly impacted our state and federal funding, limiting resources available to support our students. I'm devoted to addressing these challenges by advocating for policies that bolster teacher retention, upgrade our educational infrastructure, and implement initiatives to reverse declining enrollment. Together, we can ensure our schools have the support they need to offer a quality education, setting our children on the path to success.

Infrastructure and Economic Development. I am committed to fostering a vibrant future for our community through robust infrastructure and sustainable economic growth. I understand the profound impact that well-maintained roads, bridges, and reliable utilities have on our daily lives. Beyond bricks and mortar, investing in our infrastructure means investing in the livelihoods of hardworking families, ensuring safer commutes, and creating opportunities for local businesses to thrive. I believe in a vision that merges compassion with progress, where economic development isn’t just about numbers, but about lifting each member of our community towards a brighter, more equitable future. Together, let's build a tomorrow where every voice is heard, every neighborhood flourishes, and every individual has the chance to succeed.
